Hypnotherapy

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic practice that uses guided hypnosis to help clients reach a trance-like state of focused attention and deep relaxation. During this process, the brain reaches a theta state where the therapist helps the client access the subconscious mind. In this state, a person's mind is more open and responsive to positive suggestions and imagery, which can help facilitate healthy changes in

perceptions, sensations, emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.

Who Can Benefit?

Mental and Emotional Health
Anxiety, depression, stress, panic attacks, phobias, PTSD, low self-esteem, insomnia, grief and loss, and relationship concerns.

Pain Management and Medical Support
Chronic pain, headaches, migraines, surgery and medical procedure support, childbirth, pain from burns or cancer treatment, and memory improvement following brain injuries.

Behavioral Change
Smoking cessation, weight management, and overcoming unwanted habits.

Peak Performance
Enhanced focus, reduced performance anxiety, improved confidence, and money mindset work for professionals, athletes, and business leaders.

Why Choose Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy accesses the subconscious mind to address issues at a deeper level, often resulting in faster progress for conditions like phobias, anxiety, and chronic pain. Unlike therapies focused on conscious analysis, hypnotherapy allows direct suggestion for change with reduced effort from the individual. For comprehensive support, it can be combined with talk therapy and CBT.

What to Expect

Minimum Program

4 sessions for continuity of care and treatment effectiveness.

First Session

Discussion of your goals, concerns, and history. The hypnotherapist explains the process—no hypnotic induction during this initial consultation.

Second Session Onward

90-minute second session includes your first hypnotic induction. Subsequent sessions range from 45-90 minutes.

The Experience

You remain fully aware and in control throughout. The therapist uses verbal cues, repetition, and imagery to guide you into heightened concentration. In this relaxed state, your subconscious becomes more accessible to suggestions aligned with your goals.

Intensive Option: 1-day intensive sessions (3-4 hours) are available.

The Science Behind Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy involves both psychological and neurological mechanisms, all while the client remains fully aware and in control.

Neurological Changes
Brain imaging studies show measurable changes in brain activity during hypnosis, including shifts in brain wave patterns (often into the alpha and theta range, associated with deep relaxation and creativity) and altered connectivity between different brain regions. This affects how the brain processes information, pain, and emotions.

Behavioral and Perceptual Changes
By accepting new ideas and reframing thought patterns at a subconscious level, clients can modify deeply ingrained beliefs and automatic responses.

Common Questions

Is it safe?
Yes. Hypnotherapy is not mind control—you remain in control, aware, and can recall your experience. It only works if you're willing to make changes. Working with a trained, certified therapist ensures safety and effectiveness. Not recommended for individuals with severe mental illnesses like schizophrenia.

Will I remember?
Yes, you'll remember what happened, much like recalling a conversation or dream.

Does it work?
Numerous studies demonstrate hypnotherapy's effectiveness for anxiety, pain, insomnia, addiction, and peak performance enhancement. Brain imaging shows measurable changes in brain activity during hypnosis, affecting how the brain processes information, pain, and emotions.
